Single-Session Therapy

I offer the opportunity to book a single session of therapy. This is useful if you have a specific issue or challenge that you would like to work through in a structured, focused way with the goal of devising a practical plan or coping strategies. Alternatively, you may just want a greater understanding of your problem and to explore how you feel about it.

This can be an excellent, cost-effective way to focus on a unique issue that is causing you stress or anxiety, such as how to deal with specific events or times of the year, relationship problems, work-related issues or making a difficult decision.

I charge £50 for a 60-minute online session (including an optional follow-up phone call), although I am open to being flexible depending on your needs.

Single-session therapy FAQs

What is the difference between single-session therapy and longer-term therapy?

In some ways, they are similar. There will still be a contract between counsellor and client and you can expect to be listened to in a non-judgemental, empathetic and compassionate space. However, as single-session therapy is time-limited, the session will be more structured and focused on the presenting issue. In longer-term therapy, there may be no specific goal or outcome, whereas with single-session therapy we will work toward a plan, strategy or solution that may be helpful.

Can I have more than one session?

Yes, that is certainly possible however many people find one session is enough. You may find it helpful to book further sessions. In this case, we will enter an ongoing therapy contract and book sessions dependant upon availability.

Is single-session therapy guaranteed to give me a solution or solve my problem?

Unfortunately, I cannot guarantee that single-session therapy will provide a solution. As with everything in life, it may be helpful to be listened to without judgement and be supported in finding a solution that works for you but there are no promises or quick fixes.
